WHERE I COME FROM

I grew up on a farm in Southwest Minnesota. I have four other siblings, which we all share the unique blessing of being adopted. My father has been a lifelong farmer and my mother has worked as a nursing home social worker.  After graduating from high school, I moved to North Newton, KS and pursued a Social Work degree at Bethel College. During my second year, I took a break from my studies and started working in property management and banking while living in Colorado. My family moved to Cheyenne in 2014 where I continued to work in property management and then eventually for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

MY CAREER

During my time working at the VA, I developed close relationships with veterans and that’s truly where my passion for mental health awareness started. It also heavily influenced my decision to switch my major to psychology. I completed my bachelors in psychology concentrated in Addiction Studies from Purdue University Global in October of 2023. Shortly after, I found myself starting a movement advocating for mental health and suicide awareness at Minot Air Force Base and the community of Minot. This prompted me to hold a three day demonstration on the Broadway Bridge in Minot.  Since then, I formed Talk United-Minot with a close friend of mine which aims to provide group support to airmen, veterans, and the community in general. I have dedicated time and effort into reaching out to local officials and U.S. Senators in hopes of bringing major changes to legislation focused on addressing mental health barriers within our military.  Mental health reform is very important to me as well as working to tear down the stigma around addictions and seeking help.

MY DREAM

Now, here I am, running for State Legislature to raise my voice, help others, and make positive changes for North Dakotans. I am committed to providing representation for all, not just a select few. I hope to gain your vote this election!

MISSION STATEMENT

Bold Determination, Proven Dedication

My campaign for District 38 is all about authenticity and empowering others to stand up for what they believe in, despite the odds up against them. Furthermore, during such a great divide, now more than ever is it important to bring balance to Bismarck. Great things can be accomplished when we have leaders who are willing to work with each other, not against. The focus shouldn’t be our differences, but for us to find common ground. This is what will get effective bills passed and earn the trust of constituents. I will be a representative who will be there to do my job, not waste time.
